It does not automatically solve scratch resistance. It is not the same as outdoor durability. It may also create sourcing or lead time pressure in some custom projects.
The way I judge this in real work is simple: I do not ask whether OP3 is better; I ask whether OP3 solves the biggest risk in this specific display.
That question keeps the project honest.
For some displays, the best answer is OP3.
For others, standard clear acrylic, P95, P99, frosted acrylic, hard-coated acrylic, or polycarbonate may be a better fit.
